Now it's called the LogMeIn Client desktop app

Top Apps (Beta)

Our latest feature for LogMeIn Pro provides a new way for you to access your most commonly visited websites and online applications. The sites you use most often like Evernote, DocuSign, Dropbox, LinkedIn, QuickBooks, and WordPress will automatically appear in the menu once the feature is turned on. The goal is to provide a smooth transition to your other accounts to help you get work done faster – directly from LogMeIn Pro. Learn More

How does it work? The LogMeIn service captures web app usage from each computer in your account. When logged in to your account, a list of apps is shown along the right side of the Computers page. Click a listed app to launch it.

Who can see web app data?

  • If you are the only user of your account, then only you.
  • If you have other users, you can choose to show web app data to all users or only yourself.
  • Or you can simply choose not to use this feature.

System and browser requirements:

  • Host: Windows XP SP3 or newer
  • Mac hosts are not supported
  • Browsers: Latest version of Firefox, Chrome, Safari; Internet Explorer 8+
    • JavaScript must be enabled

To take advantage of one-click access to your favorite websites, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to https://beta.logmein.com/
  2. Log in with your LogMeIn ID
  3. Under Applications (right side of your screen), click Switch On and choose whether to show web app data to all users or only yourself.

That’s it. It may take a few hours to collect app usage data from your computers.
Why are sites I never visit being listed? Some websites trigger requests to other sites. Because the LogMeIn service captures all HTTP/HTTPs requests made from your computers, these “incidental” sites show up in your results.

LogMeIn Remote USB (Beta)

Updated: 12/01/2013

LogMeIn Remote USB (the "Software") is experimental software that allows You to create a virtual USB slot for a remote computer. You connect a USB device to one computer for use on another. The "receiving" computer can access a USB device connected to the "sending" device as if it were connected locally. For example, You could plug Your smartphone to Your work computer's USB slot (sending computer) and connect it to Your home computer (receiving computer). Learn More

Supported operating systems

  • Windows XP x86, x64
  • Windows Vista x86, x64
  • Windows 7 x86, x64
  • Windows 8 x86, x64

Known Issues and Limitations

  • A direct TCP connection is required between the sending and receiving computer.
  • One workaround for this requirement is to set up a virtual network using LogMeIn Hamachi.
  • When connecting by a direct TCP connection You must manually disable Windows Firewall on the remote computer since there will be no automatic popup requesting access.
  • Credentials must be entered each time You connect to a device unless the same credentials work on both the sending and receiving devices, such as when both machines are in the same domain.
  • Note that Windows by default does not allow remote log in with a blank password. That means this the LogMeIn Remote USB service won't be able to connect using an account with no password. See the following Microsoft article for more info:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=303846
  • Vista users: Installing Remote USB on Vista may result in an error message stating that the driver is not signed. To resolve this issue, update the cert store by installing fix KB931125 from the Windows Update site.
